The changes coming to League of Legends for Season 13 get the players excited. Since the game is in the preseason for 2023, the players can also try out and get used to these changes for the next season. For example, just before Season 13 started, League of Legends added a new champion called "K'Sante," which made top-lane players very happy. In Season 13, jungle players will have a completely different way to play.
Also, it's not wrong to say that League of Legends Season 13 has a lot of different changes to its gameplay. Changes have been made to the way Summoner's Rift and Howling Abyss are played in general. Aside from these, the next season will also talk about the items and changes for Jungle. The official League of Legends YouTube channel has also put out a video about the next season. Now is the time to find out about these changes for next season.
When Does League of Legends Season 13 Start?
Everyone knows by now that Season 13 will start in January 2023. However, we believe the exact date is January 11th, 2023.
Chemtech Drake IS BACK!
Before 2022, the Chemtech Drake was shown to players for the first time during the preseason. But right before the start of that season, League of Legends turned off the drake that had just been added. They turned off this drake because of what people said and asked on social media. Most of the players agreed that it was hard and frustrating to play Chemtech Drake. Also, they said that it gave great bonuses to the side that won, which made the side that lost lose faster. Because of this, Chemtech Drake couldn't work.
Chemtech Drake is an old friend, but it's time to see him again. With its buff, the drake can change how the Summoner's Rift works. In addition to helping the champions, the Chemtech Drake soul also changes the terrain of the Rift by improving and changing the jungle plants. The League of Legends Summoner's Rift Team talked about Chemtech Drake and how it works.
- When the Chemtech Drake is killed, it will now give a small amount of Tenacity and Heal/Shield strength.
- When you have less than a certain amount of health, Chemtech Soul will do more damage.
- Blast Cones will now shoot twice as far as they did before.
- Honey Fruits will turn into Stim Fruits, which will no longer slow down champions who eat them and will instead heal them and give them a small shield on top of that.
- Scryer's Bloom will become Stalker's Bloom when it gets better. When these plants are hit, they now show a small circle around the plant and a cone in the opposite direction of where they were hit. This shows enemy champions and reduces the health of revealed wards to 1.
New Jungle Pets
In League of Legends's Season 13, jungle players won't be alone. Near the summoner, there are new pets that want to go on adventures. At the start of a game, jungle players can buy three different pets from the in-game shop. As the jungler kills more jungle monsters, these pets get better, which helps them grow and change over time. When the pets' evolution is done, the jungler gets Avatar buffs. Also, each of the pets gives the player a different buff. Check out these buffs:
- Noxian Embercat: This will be the pet that junglers who want to play more aggressively will choose. It will slow things down and do more damage.
- Ixtali Ixamander: This jungle pet is perfect for junglers who want to lead their teams and act as a tank. Depending on how much health you have, it will give you a shield that, when broken, gives you more slow resistance and Tenacity.
- Ionian Cloudleaper: This jungle pet will help junglers move around the map and switch roles more quickly. It will make moving around faster.
New Updates That Help Jungle Players
More changes that help junglers are coming to League of Legends. These changes will help people, especially those who are just starting out. There are two changes to talk about in that part of the guide. The first one is about range indicators for leashes, and the second one is about recommending jungle paths.
Recommended Jungle Path
This feature is also important for people who are just starting out. It gives a suggested path through the jungle for each champion. Also, these suggestions are based on the data that has been collected about how often experienced players win. Lastly, the recommended jungle path shows up on the mini-map, and the camps are numbered from 1 to 6.
Leashing Range Indicator
In League of Legends, one of the things people talk about is the size of the range of the jungle monsters. Because of this, the team working on Summoner's Rift made a new part of the jungle gameplay. Players are testing the part of the game that has already been added. With this feature, players can see how far away jungle monsters are from their camp. This makes playing the jungle role easier.
Ping Tool Updates
This change affects the way the game is played in both Summoner's Rift and Howling Abyss. Now, there are 8 different pings on the ping wheel so that the team can quickly talk to each other. League of Legends Season 13 will be easier to communicate with the team through the ping wheel thanks to these extra pings. The shared preview notes for this new system explain it in these ways:
- Returning Pings (clockwise): Retreat, On My Way, Assist Me, Enemy Missing
- New Pings (clockwise): Push, All-In, Hold, Bait
- New Vision Pings: Vision Cleared, Enemy Vision, Need Vision
Top Lane Updates
The jungle players might be the ones who are most affected by the changes. But players in the top lane have to change how they play. In other words, League of Legends makes changes for top-lane players by giving them an update that helps them level up faster than they could before. Let's look at the update's notes:
Solo Lane Experience: Solo lanes will now receive a 95% experience multiplier (previously 93%) from minions.
Duo Lane Experience: Duo lanes will now receive a 22% bonus experience multiplier (previously 24.73%) from minions.
Mid Lane Gold Changes: All minions spawned in the mid lane will now be worth 1 less gold before 14 minutes when last hit (previously, only cannon minions were worth less gold, but were worth 10 less gold).
Objective Voting
League of Legends Season 13 has added another thing to the Rift. One thing that was expected to be added to the game was the ability to vote on objectives. It gives the team that can't decide what to do next or when to take an object in the Rift a way to vote on what to do. When the voting function comes up, everyone on the team can vote, just like when the surrender vote comes up. Lastly, the function appears when an object is pinged using On My Way Ping or Retreat Ping.
