About Sally Whitemane

The Monastery used to be a prosperous stronghold of Lordaeron's priesthood - a place for learning and prosperity. Due to the rise of the undead Scourge while the Third War was on, the prosperous Monastery has become a fort of the overzealous Scarlet Crusade. During Whitemane's command, the soldiers of the Scarlet Crusade have become more and more extreme in their fight with the Scourge. The whole fight got to them and they became delusional, not trusting anyone who wasn't a part of the Crusade, marking them plagued. This led to the tortures and killings of high number of innocent men, women and children.

In the end, she became undead herself and a member of the Four Horsemen under the command of Deathloard, general of the Order of Death Knights during the Legion invasion. The other horsemen were Nazgrim, Highlord Darion Mograin and Thoras Trollbane.

She now joins the Nexus as an aggressive ranged support that heals her allies with the help of damaging the enemies. She's great at trading damage and has to damage others in order to heal.

We did not predict her joining the Nexus but we have successfully predicted many others, and have more predictions lined up in our Who Is The Next HotS hero post.

Tips & Tricks

1. Don't forget to apply Zeal to allies before damaging enemies.

2. Basic damage combo is [E] Searing Lash followed with [W] Inquisition.

3. You can use Scarlet Aegis [R1] to apply Zeal without desperation cost.

4. Clemency [Level 1 talent] also applies Zeal.

5. Use Scarlet Aegis [R1] on nearby allies, it will apply Zeal and then damage enemies to heal your whole team.

6. High Inquisitor [Level 4 talent] makes it so you never need mana. Heal allies with Desperate Plea up to 3 times, cast Inquisition to obtain mana back or Clemency if you can't on an enemy.

7. Often times, offense will be the best defense, dealing damage gives you healing, so if you think you won't die, don't run and try to win the fight and heal at the same time.

8. Use Auto-Attacks as well, learn how to stutter step as the attack speed is fairly high and you can output damage for more healing.

Abilities Explanations

Zeal

Zeal is a powerful buff that you can apply to yourself and your allies. It can be applied from any abilities that heal and is used as a primary source of healing for Whitemane. Desperate Plea, Clemency and Scarlet Aegis. It's suggested to have Zeal applied to as many heroes as possible before entering any teamfights.

Desperate Plea

This is the only ability with a mana cost and no cooldown. It doesn't heal much and is mostly used to apply Zeal. Simply spamming Desperate Plea is not wise due to Desperation mechanic (increases mana cost by 60 and stacks up to 3 times).

Zeal lasts longer than Desperation. The ideal routine is to cast it twice and wait for Desperation to expire.

Inquisition

Inquisition deals direct damage through channel, means you cannot move. Still, if you're in a safe position and enough Zeals applied, it's fine, you look through a healing lens and try to maximize healing output. A good rule is to cast Searing Lash and then inquisition since Searing Lash isn't channeled.

It can also be used only for slow if you think you and your team can land a kill that way.

Searing Lash

This ability has a short cast, no mana cost and low cooldown. Generally use it as much as possible to get it going automatically, you have better things to worry such as managing Desperation stacks.

Scarlet Aegis

Amazing heroic ability that lets you apply Zeal to everyone in range + armor. Cast it and deal damage!

Divine Reckoning

This heroic is useful with compositions that use Jaina, ETC, Malfurion and so on... Where your team will hold the enemy inside the consecrated area long enough. Can also be used for zoning during Objectives.
