What Is The Black Ops 6 Zombies Mode?

Simply put, Black Ops 6 Zombies mode is a Black Ops 6 mode where players take on Zombies. The good news is that you can play this in multiplayer mode or solo mode.

While the game mode has been offered previously as well, quite a few new features are expected to revitalize the game. Before that, let's understand the story of this mode.

Story Of The Black Ops 6 Zombies mode

Black Ops 6 Zombies happens around 5 years after the Black Ops Cold War. The story begins with Dr. Peck trying to rescue his old friends from a research facility in Japan. The new character Maya helps the Dr. rescue Weaver, Carver, and Grey. The complete list of characters includes:

Does Black Ops 6 Beta Have Zombies?

Unfortunately, the Zombies mode is not available in the game's beta release.

Confirmed Black Ops 6 Zombies maps

The Black Ops 6 Zombies mode will have 2 maps at launch. These include:

1. Terminus

Terminus is a dingy zombies map to which Dr. Peck's friends have been confined since the Black Ops Cold War. Now that they are out of their cell, they discover the horrific truth that the outpost has been turned into a bio-research station. The station consists of mutated creatures. Terminus is designed with plenty of space to move around, but cells are the problem. You need to avoid getting trapped in them.

The outpost is on an island surrounded by water. Anyone leaving the island gets immediately gobbled up by the Tentacle, a monster waiting in the surrounding waters. However, the Tentacle plays a crucial role in combat. There are certain Tentacle Traps located around the map. These are doors accessible to the Tentacle. Move through them with a slew of zombies behind you, and the Tentacle will gobble them up. Similarly, there are Cannon traps to kill multiple zombies at once. The cannon was repurposed during Project Janus but is now available at your disposal.

With dark, dingy surroundings and zombies around every corner, the map does pose a challenge.

2. Liberty Falls

Try out the second map, which is known as Liberty Falls. Liberty Falls is a town located in Southern America. A zombie apocalypse destroyed this town, which was once the fastest-growing town in America. The town map appears more welcoming than Terminus and has distinct features like a church, comic book store, and so on.

These sites are much more than cosmetic additions to the map. For example, a statue in the comic book store can unleash laser beams all over the room and eliminate zombies. With each map having different wonder weapons, maps offer something unique.

Certain new features are available across maps. I will cover some of them below.

Features of Black Ops 6 Zombies

Some of these features are new, whereas others are making a return.

1. Save and Quit feature

Very few Zombie games offer you a choice to save a game and return to it. You get this option in the Solo mode of Black Ops 6 Zombies. There is, however, a limitation.

The game developers offer only a single save slot. This means that if you want to save another game, you will have to let go of the first one or complete that game.

According to the developers, they don't want the players to start managing saves, so they limited it to 1.

The game developers have also confirmed that a temporary save is also created when the round ends. Also you can resume a game if you get disconnected. Various attributes of the character, like the Armor and Pack-A-Punch, will be saved, and you will retain them when you resume the game after the reconnection.

To prevent the Save and Quit option from being exploited, players can only use this option when they possess full health. If you're just about to get slaughtered by the Zombies, you can't use this option to delay the outcome.

The good news is that you can start and play another game even if you have a saved one.

2. Return of Gobble Gums

Gobble Gums are returning after Black Ops 3. The game developers have simplified the entire system and introduced certain new gums.

Rarities also make a return to the Gobble Gums systems.

Rare

Rare Gums impart you with a shield that makes your armor 2x for 3 minutes.

Epic

The Free Fire Epic Gum allows you to fire infinitely for 60 seconds. Another Epic gum is Soda Fountain, which gives you a free perk when you buy the next perk.

Legendary

As for Legendary, it includes the Phoenix Up, which helps you revive your teammates.

Wall-to-wall clearance gum reduces the cost of whatever you buy to 10 points.

Ultra

Perkaholic gum helps you gain all the perks on the map. Another Ultra Gum is Wonder Bar, which helps you pull out a wonder weapon from the mystery box the next time you come across a mystery box.

Whimsical

Whimsical gums cause hilarious occurrences. An example is the Newtonian Negation, which causes the killed zombies to fly straight into the air for three minutes.

Like Black Ops 3 Zombies, you can use the Gobble Gum machine at will and will be given a Gum randomly. You can use this machine for free. The Gobble Gums system has been advanced, and you can now carry up to 3 Gums with you. You can use them one by one or simply use all of them together. The choice is yours.

3. Easter Egg Quest

Both maps will have a main Easter Egg Quest, and each Easter Egg will have unique map rewards. Since the developers have mentioned a set of map-specific rewards rather than just one, it will be interesting to know how many are on offer and how the players can earn those.

However, the only way to get the complete set is to play the Easter Quest repeatedly.

4. Guided Mode

Guided mode helps the player complete the Main Quest. In this mode, there is a cap of 15 rounds. While the mode guides you through the Easter Egg quests, the Side Easter Eggs will be disabled.

The aim is to make the zombies mode easier for beginner players. Simultaneously, since it's an optional feature, seasoned players can keep it deactivated, preserving the game's hardcore nature helping them enjoy all the action along with the Side Easter Eggs Quests.

5. Augment System

The Augment system will allow players to customize their loadouts using Augments. When the game launches, 100 Augments, either major or minor, will be available. Every player can use 1 Major and 1 Minor Augment simultaneously. Augments can be applied to field upgrades, ammo mods, or perks. They can also be used in the Zombies mode.

6. Ability To Switch Between First-person and Third Person

Another useful feature in the Zombies mode is switching between first-person and third-person mode. In certain cases, switching to the third-person mode can help you gain higher visibility and make the game easier, especially in the solo mode.
