When Does Valorant Console Beta End?

Riot hasn't set a specific end date for the VALORANT console beta. Are Mouse and Keyboard Bannable in Valorant Console?

The Valorant Console Limited Beta FAQ states that players can only use a controller when playing on a console. Riot emphasizes that using a mouse and keyboard could give some players an unfair advantage.

Riot wants everyone to have a consistent experience, no matter where they play, ensuring fair gameplay. Using a mouse and keyboard can disrupt this balance and may result in getting banned from Valorant on consoles.

In the video, a player is seen fidgeting with a dagger while the sounds of their keyboard clicks are heard in the background. Suddenly, the player is kicked out of the game with a big red "Cheater Detected" message. The player tries to rejoin several times but keeps getting kicked out, showing they've been banned. Valorant also shows a message saying the player violated the terms of service and didn't uphold the match's integrity, reminding players to be respectful in games.

What is Focus mode in Valorant Console?

Bringing a tactical first-person shooter to consoles poses challenges because it's often believed that the precision isn't as good as on PC, especially according to competitive players. This is why many consider mouse and keyboard superior for shooters. These input methods allow players to have more precise control over movement using their elbow and wrist, unlike the joystick on a controller.

Focus Mode aims to tackle this issue. After trying it out on PS5 over a weekend, I can confidently say it does a great job. So, what is Focus Mode exactly?

Instead of the usual "left trigger to aim down sights" approach found in most shooters, it maps Focus Mode to the left trigger. When you press it, the game adjusts the sensitivity of the aiming joystick, making it much lower than when shooting from the hip. Importantly, this doesn't actually aim down sights (PSA: You can still enable traditional ADS in the settings). This adjustment mimics the precise control of a mouse.
