What is The Gauntlet in Diablo 4, Anyway?

So, what exactly is The Gauntlet in Diablo 4? It's a unique challenge where the dungeon's layout and monsters stay the same each time you play. Within a tight 8-minute window, your goal is to score as high as possible and climb the leaderboards.

Here's the twist: instead of collecting loot along the way, you get it automatically when the timer runs out. You'll also get a small loot cache after each run and a bigger one each week based on your best score.

This weekly cache guarantees you a powerful Ancestral Legendary item. The higher your score, the better the loot you'll get, up to item level 925. And if you do well in multiple runs, you can earn even more rewards.

In The Gauntlet, everyone starts on the same level. Success depends on making smart choices as you navigate the dungeon, so planning your route carefully is key to climbing the leaderboards.

Where Is The Gauntlet Location in Diablo 4?

In Diablo 4, The Gauntlet is found in the southwestern port of Gea Kul in Kehjistan. To enter, look for the Horn of Trials at the end of the longest dock. Blowing this horn lets you take on the tough challenges of The Gauntlet.

You can only access The Gauntlet in the Seasonal Realm once you reach World Tier 4. While there's no strict level requirement, it's a good idea to be at Level 100 before tackling this dangerous trial.

    Scores in The Gauntlet

In the Gauntlet, you have options on which path to take in the dungeon to get the highest score. You can decide as a group where to go. When you defeat monsters, they drop Proofs of Might, which you automatically collect.

But you need to pick up Proofs of Might from chests by walking over them. You have 8 minutes to gather as many Proofs of Might as you can to boost your score. Different enemies and chests give different amounts of score.

    Label Points Awarded/Rewards
Pillar of Glory Provides a 2.5x score multiplier for its duration.
Pillar of Proving Respawns all enemies in the Gauntlet.
    Elite 1,100 Points
    Boss 9,000 Points
    Monster with Iron Key 1
Small Chest 3,000 Points (requires 1 Iron Key to be opened)
Large Chest 8,000 Points (requires 1 Iron Key to be opened)

If you die in the Gauntlet, you'll drop a third of your score, one-third to be exact, each time you bite the dust. But don't fret too much! You or your buddies can snag back all the Proofs of Might you lost at the spot where you met your demise.

    Chests

To unlock those chests and boost your score, you've gotta grab Iron Keys from specific monsters marked with a fiery skull on the minimap in the Gauntlet. No matter if it's a small or big chest, you only need one Iron Key to open it up. But, the big chests give you more points. Just keep an eye on your HUD next to the minimap to see how many keys you've gathered.

    Seals

In the Gauntlet, players earn Seals based on their final scores, and they can work to improve those scores. By participating in different leaderboard brackets, they can earn multiple Seals. These Seals come with portrait frames that they can display in-game. The score required to earn each Seal changes weekly, depending on the Gauntlet layout and the player's chosen class. Here are all the Seals listed from lowest to highest.

  • Seal of the Blooded

  • Seal of the Steadfast

  • Seal of the Iron-Willed

  • Seal of the Worthy
