Warzone Purgatory Island Event Explained - Rewards, Dates

Get ready for some serious fun in Purgatory, a new squad-based LTM set on the Rebirth Island Hellspawn map variant. This sandbox mode lets squads fight and complete objectives at their own pace.

Here’s a taste of what to expect during your time in the afterlife:

When Does Purgatory Island Event End?

Purgatory Island event ends on October 16, 2024.

How Does Purgatory Island Event Work?

Custom Loadouts are always available, and all Operators get infinite respawns.

Insane Powerups: Beyond high-tier loot and weapon blueprints, you’ll find loads of Killstreaks and unique ability-enhancing powerups. You’ll also get access to special weapons from Arcade and Mutation LTMs, adding even more chaos to the battlefield.

Portals: Purgatory features portals that teleport you to random locations on the map, including the infamous Flying Shipment.

Flying Shipment: Things get even weirder with Shipment literally flying over the Hellspawn map. You can reach it via parachute, helicopter, or by using a portal.

Safe Zone: In the Safe Zone, you’re immune from damage, making it a perfect spot to rest. These translucent domes are easily spotted on the map. Once inside, the game switches to third-person view, letting you customize loadouts, chat with others, commend teammates, earn XP, and more.

Torment Level: As you rack up eliminations, your Torment Level increases, boosting the XP you earn. But be careful—higher Torment Levels also make you more visible on the minimap, making it easier for enemies to track you down.

Scare Packages: These loot-filled drops come with powerful gear and some unexpected surprises. One highlight is the potential for finding a Terriball.

Terriball: Terriballs spawn throughout the map and can be found in Scare Packages. You can shoot, melee, or kick them to send them flying, and if they hit an enemy, it’s an instant elimination.

Squads can aim for victory by eliminating enemies and working together in this intense 4-week event on the Hellspawn map.

Purgatory Island Challenges and Rewards

Purgatory Island event challenges are the following:

Challenge 1 - Reach Torment Level 2 ("Dead Guy Walking" Emblem)

Challenge 2 - Spend 5 minutes outside the Safe Zone without Killing Another Operator ("Kingdom's Gate" Emblem)

Challenge 3 - Get 50 mercenary kills using the Terriball or while in a vehicle ("Devil's Favorite" Calling Card)

Challenge 4 - Commend 5 Operators in the Safe Zone ("Favored One" Calling Card)

Challenge 5 - 5 Operator kills while in a vehicle ("Inner Demons" Camo)

Challenge 6 - 3 Operator kills using the Terriball ("Still Beating" Camo)

Challenge 7 - Teleport 15 times using Portals ("Supportive Gesture" Charm)

Challenge 8 - Pilot the Flying Shipment ("Flying Bullet" Charm)

Secret Challenge - Survive for 5 Minutes At Torment Level 5 ("Gore Cannon" Blueprint for RAAL MG)

Completing all 8 challenges excluding Secret challenge gets you "Cloud Watching" camo.
