If so, get a wonder weapon. However, it's easier said than done. Wonder weapons are limited to Zombies mode, and getting them seems like a herculean task.

Wonder weapons have special features that help you dominate the game. While most weapons (over 100+) follow basic laws of physics, wonder weapons are a class apart. That's why they can help you dominate and eliminate hordes of enemies in a single go. In a nutshell, once you have a wonder weapon in your arsenal, it's really difficult to succumb to enemies.

All MW3 Wonder Weapons

Currently, MW3 offers 4 Wonder weapons with the latest one being launched just a few days back along with the launch of Warzone season 1.

1. Ray Gun

Ray Gun is a wonder weapon that can slay multiple enemies at once. That's possible because it kills not only the enemy you aim at but also those in the vicinity. That’s possible because of the splash effect.

Another reason it's so popular is because until shot 22 it can kill in a single shot. This capacity can be further increased to 25 when you use the Pack-a-Punch.

However, using it has a learning curve. The primary reason is the travel time of the bullets. Even though the travel time is not that large, it's noticeable in a fast-paced mode like zombies. It means you will have to time your attack right to avoid getting swamped by zombies.

Keep in mind that the splash damage can impact the player as well. Therefore, it's best to fire carefully.

A few other tips to keep in mind include:

After bullet 22, the effectiveness of the gun reduces. Instead of killing zombies, it will just make them crawl.

Using the ray gun involves achieving a delicate balance between the firing rate and accuracy. By default, the firing is slow (as highlighted above), but the accuracy is great. If you use the Double Tap Root Beer cola, you can increase the firing rate, but the accuracy rate takes a hit.

The player also needs to be aware of the 3-second reload time. That reload time isn't certainly the fastest. This can, however, be tackled with speed cola.

With a direct hit damage of 1000 and splash hit damage between 300 to 1,500, it's easy to understand why it's one of the best wonder weapons despite its shortcomings.

2. Wunderwaffe DG-2

How about a wonder weapon that causes infinite damage?

Yes, that’s what Wunderwaffe DG-2 offers. With an automatic firing mechanism, it isn't slow, which comes in handy in the zombies mode. Also, it can get you up to 10 kills in a single shot. Magazine capacity of 3 charges means you can take off an entire horde of zombies when you aim it right.

When you fire this weapon, it sends a chained electric current toward the target, killing it within a few seconds. After the electric current reaches the intended target, it also moves towards the enemies in the vicinity (maximum 9). Usually, any enemies (zombies) within 5 yards of the target are affected by the electric charge.

Apart from the zombies, the wonder weapon is also effective in killing the hellhounds you encounter. However, before you start using this weapon, keep the following things in mind:

It isn’t suitable for close combat since it can also damage the user.

The ammo capacity of the Wunderwaffe DG-2 is 3 in the magazine and 15 in total. This can be increased with the help of Pack-a-Punch.

3. The Scorcher

The Scorcher offers many features most other wonder weapons miss out on. To begin with, it offers infinite ammo. You can fire a charged shot mode or a single shot using it.

If you are wondering about the difference between both, they both result in firing a red laser beam.

However, the charged shot fires a beam that lasts for a few seconds. During this duration, any zombie in the vicinity is killed or damaged. That’s because the charged shot has approximately double the damage of the single shot. Keep in mind that the charged shot takes some time to build up, so if you need an immediate shot, go with a single shot.

Single shot, as the name suggests, is geared towards a single enemy. Besides, it’s pretty quick, which means if you want a quick escape, try the single shot.

Point it towards the sky and fire it. That will launch you up in the sky, and then you can parachute to a nearby area. That certainly increases the functionality of this wonder weapon.

Few things to keep in mind when using The Scorcher:

It's a good wonder weapon in the low and mid threat zone, but you need to use Pack-A-Punch if you want to use it in the high threat zone.

Avoid using it in close-quarter combat because of its slow firing speed.

Animation is what slows it down; therefore, be prepared to handle that.

Reload takes time as well.

4. V-R11

Almost every wonder weapon that I have highlighted above helps you eliminate enemies. However, this one doesn't do that.

Wait, what?

Yes, it helps you turn zombies into humans or opponents into friendly zombies. It means when you are playing alone and fire this weapon towards someone, they will become your ally. It's essentially a weapon to build up your squad within the game.

Sounds wonderful right?

You bet!

But there are a few things to keep in mind:

First is that the squad members you induct using this weapon remain alive only for a limited time.

Also, VR-11 is slower to fire than usual weapons; therefore, when faced with a horde, you need to be careful.

It does allow you down which means you might have to take fists out to move swiftly when equipped with this weapon.

Zombie you turn into a human with this weapon will be equipped with a gun and, therefore, can eliminate other zombies faster.

One huge positive is that you get the XP for the kills that a newly inducted squad member gets for you.

When you fire this weapon towards human players, you will turn them into friendly zombies.

When used correctly, this wonder weapon can be a huge XP farming hack. However, its ability against hordes of zombies is limited by its firing rate and how well you can dodge them, especially in the high-threat zone.

How Do You Get Wonder Weapons?

1. Open Mystery Boxes

Mystery boxes spawn all across the Zombies map from time to time. Every time you open a mystery box, you get the chance to get a weapon. However, not always this will be a wonder weapon.

Also, remember that you need to spend 950 Essence to open the mystery box.

To increase your chances of getting a wonder weapon from the mystery box, remember the tips below:

The more the game progresses, the higher is the chance of getting a wonder weapon from a mystery box.

Mystery boxes are denoted by the chest icon in the game. So, you can check the map periodically to locate these. Never miss one nearby so that you can open more mystery which leads to high probability of getting a wonder weapon.

Even when opening the mystery boxes consistently, the probability of getting a wonder weapon is less than 10%. So, you need to open a lot of them.

2. Complete Contracts

If you don’t want to run around opening mystery boxes, completing contracts is another option. After which, you will likely get a reward rift. Reward rifts usually provide unique rewards, which include wonder weapons.

Once again, completing contracts and getting a wonder weapon through a reward rift is a numbers game. Therefore, essentially, you need to choose shorter contracts to complete so that you can complete more of them.

A few other tips to follow include:

The chances of getting a wonder weapon after completing a contract are higher in the high-threat zone.

Another strategy is to get an escort contract, which helps slay zombies quicker, grab 4 meat pieces, cancel the contract, and head to a dog house to get a friendly hound. After that, completing more contracts becomes easy in the high-threat zone, which can help you get that wonder weapon.

After getting the friendly hound, loot in the high-threat zone, then try to get an abomination contract after killing the abomination, you are likely to get a wonder weapon through the reward rift.

3. Defeat a Warlord

Defeating a warlord requires you to get to the legacy fortress. Doing so involves multiple steps:

Step 1: Go to a merc camp and kill all the mercs. After that, search through the cache to get a merc stronghold key card. Alternatively, you can buy a merc stronghold key card in the medium threat zone from the buy station.

Step 2: Head to any merc stronghold, use the keycard to unlock it, and kill all the mercs across various levels of the building.

Step 3: Search the building for a safe within the building, which you need to open. Safe will provide you with the legacy fortress keycard.

Step 4: After that, head to the legacy fortress located in the top left corner of the map.

Step 5: The Middle of the fortress holds a building you can open with the keycard. Open it and clear the building of enemies, but be careful of decoys and tripwires.

Step 6: Once you eliminate the AIs in the upper rooms, you will eventually come across a boss. Eliminate the boss, and you will likely get the wonder weapon in the resultant reward rift.

Note: Legacy Fortress consists of numerous AIs, so ensure you have your favorite weapons and team when you head over to the legacy fortress.

4. Create Using Schematics

The advantage of getting a schematic of a wonder weapon is that you can recreate it every 48 hours. While there is only a 5% chance of getting that schematic, it's worth it because of the recreation ability. The trick is to complete contracts in the red zone, which is the highest threat level on the map.

The resultant reward rift can help you get the schematic.

Since the rewards are random, you might have to complete multiple contracts to get the schematic.

After getting the schematic simply exfil and use the Schematics Crafting section to craft your wonder weapon. Subsequently, add the wonder weapon to your rucksack and use it in the next game.

Note: A wonder weapon can be created from a schematic only once every 48 hours. So, if you lose, you need to wait for the cooldown time to get over.

5. Get Loot Cache

Loot cache boxes are spread all across the map. These provide you with a small chance of getting a wonder weapon, but they are worth trying. If you open enough of them within the game, you are almost certain to find a wonder weapon.

6. Complete Story Missions

Not every wonder weapon can be acquired through the story missions, but the ray gun can certainly be acquired. Complete the Act 3 Tier 4 Holdout story mission in Zombies mode, which will provide you with a schematic. There is also a small chance of getting the Wunderwaffe DG 2 schematic. Follow these tips and grabbing a wonder weapon won’t be that difficult.

When you get a wonder weapon, you get it within the weapon case. If you don't open the weapon case and exfil successfully with the case, you can retain it and equip it in the next match.

2. Get schematics

Once you get the schematics, you virtually get the license to craft the weapon once every 48 hours. After you create the weapon, you will have the weapon right from the start in the next game.
