Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's second season is here, bringing a PvE event that spans all game types. Fans of MWZ, Multiplayer, and Warzone can now battle hordes of undead in their playlists, earning unique cosmetics and MWZ Acquisitions along the way.

Horde Hunt is a month-long event running from February 7 to March 3. Zombies have infiltrated every aspect of MW3, from core Multiplayer to Warzone. Killing zombies earns you event currency, which can be exchanged for MWZ Acquisitions or exclusive event cosmetics.

How to Participate in Horde Hunt

Players can take down zombies in three different modes:

  • Multiplayer: Hordepoint, a variant of Hardpoint with zombies spawning throughout the match.

  • MWZ: The mode is overrun with zombies, with special undead appearing more frequently in higher threat regions.

  • Warzone: Complete Eradication Contracts on Fortune's Keep to join the fight.

  • Hordepoint Game Mode Explained

Hordepoint is a multiplayer playlist in MW3, where two teams of six players face off. It's a twist on the classic Hardpoint mode, now featuring elements from MWZ. Throughout the match, zombies continuously spawn, especially near the Hardpoint. These undead foes are about as tough as Low Tier zombies in MWZ and will prioritize attacking players near the Hardpoint.

The upside is that defeating zombies can yield power-ups and Pack-A-Punched weapons. Power-ups like Insta-Kill, Nuke, and Max Ammo only affect zombies and can provide valuable advantages. However, Pack-A-Punched weapons won't carry over between lives, so make the most of them while you can.

For every five zombies eliminated, you'll make progress toward your next Killstreak, which also counts toward Scorestreaks. As the match progresses, expect the zombies to get tougher. The name of the Hordepoint playlist will hint at the type of zombies you'll face in the latter half of the match, such as Armored Apocalypse signaling the arrival of Armored Zombies.

Despite the PvE element, the rules of capturing the Hardpoint remain the same as in core Multiplayer. Your team earns points by holding the Hardpoint, with the first team to reach 250 points winning the match. So, while dealing with the undead, don't forget to secure the objective and defend against enemy players.
